Animal cruelty An Animal Control Officer will be dispatched to investigate potential animal cruelty.

Athletic Field / Court Reservation Athletic fields and courts, including baseball fields, soccer fields, softball fields, football fields, basketball courts or volleyball courts, are available to reserve for practice or events.
Barking Dog An Animal Control Officer will be dispatched to investigate the barking dog.
Bart Peddicord Community Center Reservation Request Non-public operating hours at the Bart Peddicord Community Center include Friday 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., and Sunday 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.

With at least two weeks notice and depending upon availability, reservations are accepted at the Bart Peddicord Community Center up to 12 weeks in advance on a first-come, first-served basis during non-public operating hours. A minimum rental charge of two hours applies to all reservations. Payment in full and signed rental agreement are required.

Rental fees will be assessed as follows: Nonprofit Groups with verification: $10 per hour plus $100 deposit for groups of more than sixty-five (65) people. Wylie Residents with verification: $20 per hour plus $100 deposit. Nonresidents: $50 per hour plus $100 deposit.

You may bring your own food to the Bart Peddicord Community Center. If you are using a caterer, the City requires proof of liability insurance at least one day prior to the
Board & Commission Application All applications are kept on file for one year. The application deadline is May 31.

During the first week in June, a three-member City Council panel will volunteer their time to visit with all new applicants prior to making their nominations for appointments. This is an opportunity for both Council and the applicant to visit informally about the community and board appointment. At a City Council meeting, the City Council will make all nominations and appointments in open session. All applicants will be contacted after the appointments are official.
Boats, Trailers, Campers, or Other Vehicles Parked on Unapproved Surfaces, Including Grass Boats, trailers, campers, motor homes or vehicles of any kind must be parked on a paved concrete surface. Parking on grass or other unapproved surfaces is prohibited. When a complaint is received, a code officer will be dispatched to investigate the complaint and take appropriate action to bring the property up to city code.
Broken / Dilapidated Fences Fences must be in good repair. Dilapidated fences are prohibited. When a complaint is received, a code officer will be dispatched to investigate the complaint and take appropriate action to bring the property up to city code.
Damaged Fire Hydrant Damaged fire hydrants will be investigated and the issue corrected.

Dead Animal Animal Control will remove a dead animal on the side of the road, in a City park or by the lake?

Animal Control will also remove family pets from a residence for a $10 fee.
Debris on Public Streets or Storm Drains Debris on public streets and in storm drains will be investigated and removed if needed.

Graffiti The Wylie Code of Ordinances states that it shall be the duty of the property owner to remove any and all graffiti from their property when such graffiti is visible from public property, public right-of-way or any private property.

Damages to property must be abated in order to avoid the detrimental impact that graffiti has on the City and its residents.

If someone is in the act of defacing property, please call Police Dispatch, 972-442-8171
High or Tall Grass and Weeds Weeds or grass must not exceed 12 inches in height. This includes a yard, sidewalk, street or alley. When a complaint is received, a code officer will be dispatched to investigate the complaint and take appropriate action to bring the property up to city code.
Illegal Dumping It is unlawful for any person to deposit garbage, trash, rubbish, stagnant water or dead animals upon or along any drain, gutter, alley, sidewalk, street or vacant lot; or upon any public or private premises located within the Wylie City limits.

Junk, Abandoned, Inoperable Vehicles An inoperable, wrecked, or dismantled vehicle of any kind is prohibited. When a complaint is received, a code officer will be dispatched to investigate the complaint and take appropriate action to bring the property up to city code.

If the vehicle is on a public road, causing a hazard, please contact Police Dispatch, 972-442-8171
Low Water Pressure Damaged fire hydrants will be investigated and the issue corrected.

Mowing Needed - City Parks, Rights-of-Way, City Owned Greenbelts The City of Wylie Parks Department strives to maintain the appearance of City Parks, Rights-of-Way and City owned greenbelts. Keep in mind that during periods of rain and high growth seasons, especially the spring, there may be times the grass grows faster than we are able to get to it.
Outside Storage on Property Upon every lot, tract, or parcel there shall be no permanent or temporary keeping of materials, goods or products. When a complaint is received, a code officer will be dispatched to investigate the complaint and take appropriate action to bring the property up to city code.
Overhanging Limbs, Trees or Obstructing Plants on Streets or Sidewalks Trees, limbs, plants and shrubs that obstruct sidewalks, streets, alleys or the view of signs and intersections will be investigated and removed if needed.
Parks Maintenance Issue Thank you for helping us keep Wylie City Parks attractive, safe and fun for the whole family.
Pavilion / Gazebo Reservation Request Covered pavilions and gazebos can be reserved for events, birthday parties or even wedding ceremonies in Community Park, Eureka Park, Friendship Park, Olde City Park and Riverway Park. Reservations are required and can be made up to 6 months in advance of the event date.  A $50.00 deposit is required at time of booking.

The Community Park pavilion is the only one with restrooms. The Community Park pavilion and Olde City Park pavilion and gazebo are the only facilities with electrical outlets.
Potholes / Street and Alley Repair The City maintains all streets and alleys located within the City limits except those owned by the state or private citizens.

For emergency situations, such as exposed rebar or any other serious safety hazard, please call the Public Works Department at 972-442-7588 during regular business hours (7:00am - 4:00pm weekdays) or Police Dispatch at 972-442-8171 after regular business hours.
Public Information / Open Records Request The Texas Public Information Act does not require a governmental body to create new information, to do legal research, or to answer questions. The request must ask for records or information already in existence. The governmental body has 10 business days within which to respond to the request. The governmental body may collect a fee as prescribed by law or regulation for the requested documents. If a fee is not prescribed by law or regulation, the fee shall be the actual cost of duplicating the record. Please ensure that the request is completely filled out, including a contact number, and please be as specific as possible when describing the record that is needed.
School Zone Sign / Lights Missing, damaged, malfunctioning and defaced school zone signs will be investigated and the issue corrected if needed.

Signs in Public Right-of-Way or On Poles Garage sale signs or other unapproved signage may not be posted in public right-of-way or on utility poles. When a complaint is received, a code officer will be dispatched to investigate the complaint and take appropriate action to bring the property up to city code.
Stray / Escaped Animal An Animal Control Officer will be dispatched to locate the stray animal.
Street Signs - Missing, Damaged, Defaced by Graffiti Missing, damaged and defaced street signs will be investigated and the issue corrected if needed.
Streetlight Outage or Malfunction The streetlight outage or malfunction will be investigated and the issue corrected if needed.
Substandard Building / Structure A building should be in compliance of city codes and not presenting a safety hazard. When a complaint is received, a code officer will be dispatched to investigate the complaint and take appropriate action to bring the property up to city code.
Traffic Signal / Light Malfunction Traffic light malfuncitons, traffic light timing, traffic light placement or a general inquiry. Should the situation require emergency attention, please contact Police Dispatch at 972-442-8171.
Trash and Debris Trash, rubbish, or objectionable matter of any kind is not allowed to accumulate on a property. When a complaint is received, a code officer will be dispatched to investigate the complaint and take appropriate action to bring the property up to city code.
